  1. Diet
    Avoid having too much sweet/sugary food. Sucrose, also known as granulated sugar, is the leading cause of tooth decay. Take note of dried fruits as well. They are high in sugar and cling to the teeth. Bleeding gums may also be a sign of low vitamin c intake, therefore, consume plenty of vegetables and fruits for that vitamin A and C booster.

 

  1. Brush regularly

Brush your teeth every time you finish a meal. Brushing twice daily is considered the minimum to keep your gums and teeth healthy. Proper oral hygiene requires 10 minutes of brushing and flossing everyday. It is especially important to brush your teeth before you sleep because this is the time where your day ends and the entire day of food intake will cause some scraps of food to get trap in between your teeth. Saliva flow slows during sleep; going to bed without brushing the teeth is especially harmful.

A little goes a long way. Start the habit of flossing. Little food particles left in between the teeth will be removed when you floss, this helps prevent plaque and tartar build up.
